Je-won Kang received a B.S. degree and a M.S. degree from the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science of Seoul National University in 2006 and 2008, respectively, and a Ph.D degree at University of Southern California (USC) in 2012. Professor Jay Kuo is his research advisor in Media Comm. Group at USC.

His research interests are mainly in the fields of image/video/3D data compression and processing, computer vision, and bio signal processing. Currently, he is working for Qualcomm, SD, CA, USA at a Multimedia Syst. and Arch. team and involved to the next generation video coding standardization, i.e., HEVC, and its extensions.
