Ram Kashyap obtained a B.Tech degree from JawaharLal Nehru Technoligical University, India. He did his Master's in Electrical Engineering at Clarkson University under advisor Dr. Sunil Kumar. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. degree in University of Southern California under advisor Dr. C.-C. Jay Kuo. His research interests are mainly (i)developing applications such as video telephony, VoIP for 3G and 4G based cellular technologies such as EV-DO Rev.A and DO Rev.B, (ii) developing QoS based transport schemes for 4G based IMS (IPv6 as backbone network) and (iii) developing RTC MAC and buffer scheduling schemes. He did internship in Sprint Advanced Technology Labs at Burlingame, San Francisco. He also works in the area of wireless sensor networks. He develops reliable transport and MAC protocols for both event detection and sensor control over randomly distributed, wide area wireless sensor networks detecting uncorrelated heterogeneous events. He also develops reliable and scalable Wireless sensor and actuator/actor networks for industrial process monitoring and control of vital process parameters.
